Candle Care Guide
🕯️ Candle Care Guide
Summer’s Luxury Homecrafted Candles
Thank you for choosing Summer’s Luxury Homecrafted Candles. Our candles are made with 100% natural beeswax, cotton wicks, and sustainable materials. To enjoy a safe, long-lasting, and beautifully clean burn, please follow the candle care tips below.
🔥 First Burn — The Most Important
-
Allow your candle to burn until the wax melts evenly across the top (usually 1–2 hours).
-
This prevents tunnelling and helps your candle burn evenly each time.
✂️ Trim the Wick Before Every Burn
-
Trim your wick to 5–7mm before lighting.
-
This reduces soot, improves flame control, and extends the candle’s life.
-
Use a wick trimmer or pinch gently once the wax is cool.
⏳ Burn Time Recommendations
-
Do not burn your candle for more than 3–4 hours at a time.
-
Allow it to cool and reset before relighting.
-
Beeswax burns hotter than other waxes — shorter sessions keep it safe and long-lasting.
🏡 Where to Place Your Candle
-
Keep candles on a heat-resistant, stable surface.
-
Avoid drafts, open windows, or fans — this prevents uneven burning or flickering.
-
Keep away from children, pets, and anything flammable.
🧼 Candle Safety
For your safety:
-
Never leave a burning candle unattended
-
Do not move a candle while it is lit or the wax is hot
-
Keep the wax pool free from matches or debris
-
Stop burning when 10mm of wax remains at the bottom
🌿 Beeswax Candle Benefits
Beeswax candles naturally:
-
Purify the air by releasing negative ions
-
Burn brighter and longer than other waxes
-
Have a clean, subtle honey-like aroma
-
Are non-toxic and eco-friendly
For best results, keep your candle covered when not in use to protect it from dust and preserve the natural scent.
đź’› Caring for Decorative & Sculpted Candles
Our sculpted or shaped beeswax candles are designed to be both decorative and functional.
To care for them:
-
Trim the wick short for a controlled burn
-
Place on a deep, heat-resistant dish to catch natural wax drips
-
Expect a unique burn pattern, as decorative candles melt differently from jar candles
🧯 Extinguishing Your Candle
-
Use a candle snuffer or dip the wick into the wax and straighten it (reduced smoke).
-
Avoid blowing out candles, which can cause soot and hot wax splatter.
